After many months, Jane and I, finally recorded another podcast. This podcast is the first of the new year and the first of our new life out in North Carolina. This time around we have yet another special guest.

Ok, so it’s time to catch all of you, my most faithful readers, up on what has happened over the last while.

The week before Thanksgiving, Jane and I get word that Jane’s work wants her to start up a new program out in the North Carolina office. After about 2 weeks of school, stress, and sleepless nights all moving arrangements have been completed. Jane finishes her last classes of her college career, while I finish out my 4th semester.

After ever more stress, and planning, I quit my job in California, and focus all of my remaining energy in packing the house for the move. Jane’s, perfectly health, car moves out to NC… more on this later. Our Relo-cubes arrive, and we pack all our worldly possessions into 2 6x7x8 Relo-cubes, rather than 3, which saved us about $1,500. Both Jane and I get sick, and the best Christmas in the last 8 years happens… more on this Christmas later.

Jane, Lily, Stella, and I hop a couple of plans (First Class style) to NC. Jane’s car arrives, with a broken Drive Shaft, that the auto transport company refuses to take responsibility for. Other than taking Jane’s car in for repair, we had nothing to do out here for the first 3 days, until our Relo-cubes arrived, then we got hooked up with our HD Dish, and our 7mbps TWCable. Which brings me back to sitting here, enjoying the HD programming, and surfing fast and wire-free.

First thoughts of living out here in North Carolina:

- It feels like when you get DVR for the first time, and you wonder how you ever lived without it. I’m wondering why I didn’t decide to move out here earlier in life.
